What a term! Working under an ‘apprentice’ style delivery the children have each tried being a leader and second in command. They have had to negotiate conflicting ideas and have challenged their thinking.
They have worked in tool safely, coppiced willow and then woven to form wreath bird feeders, used the sheath knives to whittle sticks and have prepared and lit fires. Budding Bear Grylls in the making!
The term was concluded with a well deserved game of ‘ capture the flag’.
This has seen year 6 complete their final forest sessions, I do hope they go on to enjoy nature and explore the great outdoors.
