It was a jam packed year with 37 children taking part in the Uk Chess challenge. Each child played seven matches against other children in their age group and gained points for playing; three for a win, two for a draw and one if they lost. These points then gained them prizes. We had some very exciting and close matches and everyone seemed to enjoy the event.

We have some very talented children, four of whom,  qualified for the Mega finals outright gaining 17 or more points. A further nine children qualified as either the best girl or boy in their year group. This was until recently the only way that children qualified.

This year however the organises how open up the Mega finals to anyone who would like to participate so if you have not had your fix of playing chess then the adventure can continue.

Well done to everyone who took part and a big thank you from Mr Daly to all those experienced players who helped the less experienced children.
