Year 6 recently enjoyed a wonderful tapas experience as part of their Spanish learning. The children embraced the opportunity to bring their language skills to life by ordering their dishes entirely in Spanish, practising key vocabulary and conversational phrases in a real-life context.
The delicious tapas dishes were freshly prepared by our talented school kitchen team and enjoyed together whilst seated in front of the large windows overlooking the school field, creating a lovely atmosphere for the experience.
Throughout the afternoon, pupils showed great confidence and enthusiasm as they tried a variety of new foods and flavours, stepping out of their comfort zones to sample dishes they had never tasted before. It was fantastic to see the children using their Spanish so naturally whilst also developing their cultural understanding and appreciation of Spanish cuisine.
Experiences such as these help make language learning memorable, meaningful and fun, and Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed every moment of their special tapas afternoon.
