Last week’s Party in the Park was a truly joyful celebration of the musical talent that flourishes here at Burton Hathow. What began as a sunny summer’s evening soon transformed into something quite special – not just because of the music, but because of the remarkable sense of community that carried us through, even when the weather had other plans!

The evening opened with stunning performances from both our Upper School Orchestra, our jazz band and our budding Year 3 Orchestra. Their confidence and musicality were a delight to witness and set the tone beautifully for what was to come. This was followed by a rich variety of solo and group singing performances, each one showcasing the individuality and hard work of our pupils.

Then, as the skies opened and the rain began to fall, our community spirit shone through. With no hesitation, staff, pupils, and an incredibly supportive group of parents worked together to move instruments and equipment swiftly into the hall. What could have been a disruption became a wonderful example of teamwork and resilience.

The show went on – and with even more energy. Our rock trio brought the house down with a fantastic rendition of Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and we ended the evening with a selection of songs from our recent Upper School production, The Lady and The Mouse.

Through sunshine and showers, this event highlighted not only the musical talents of our pupils, but also the strength of our Burton Hathow community. Thank you to everyone who made it such a memorable evening – come rain or shine, we certainly know how to celebrate together.
