Since half term Year 1 and 2 have been looking at tongue twisters and poetry in English. We have written our own nursery rhymes with unexpected endings, and have also rehearsed and delivered our poetry to our classmates.

In Maths we have been looking at the relationship between multiplying and dividing, and partitioning numbers into tens and units. Children have enjoyed running our Year 1 and 2 ice cream parlour practicing their money skills.

We learnt about the Easter story, and we enjoyed making our Easter baskets in Spanish and using our design skills for our Easter bonnets.

In Topic we made our own compost bin and have learnt why it is so important to reduce, reuse and recycle our waste.

It has been so lovely to be back together again as a Burton Hathow family, and the children have visibly benefited from our positive and guided play each day. We would like to thank our wonderful BH parents for all their support through this tricky term, and would like to wish them a peaceful and restful Easter break. We are really excited about our ‘All creatures great and small’ summer topic, where indoor lessons will be taking place in our ‘jungle!’…….
