Children in Year 1 and 2 have risen to the challenge of remote learning and have engaged brilliantly this half term. In Topic we have travelled to a different country each day, learnt how to read and draw a map, use an atlas and identify different countries, continents, seas and oceans. We finished our topic work by making our own islands by reusing household recycling. We have continued our Phonics journey, and have worked hard on our spellings. In English, our theme has been Dragons, and we have looked at Chinese dragons, traditional tales with western dragons and have written our own dragon stories. In Maths, we have been busy with our learning and have looked at adding and subtracting 10, 20 and 30, Year 2’s have looked at money and rounding up and down to the nearest 10 and both years finished our work by looking at the origins of Pancake Day, and weighing and measuring ingredients for making our own pancakes.

We have been really impressed by how our BH children have continued to be motivated with their learning at home, and would like to thank our lovely parents for all their support and encouragement with this.

We hope you have a restful and safe half term break and look forward to seeing you after half term for more fun as we start on environmental adventures……
