Burton Hathow pupils continued to work on their striking and fielding skills throughout the school with sports day practice on the agenda too.

We hosted Orchard for an under 11 mixed cricket match first. BH bowled first and restricted the opponents to 42 runs. Ellie-Eve and Matthew P showing superb progress with their bowling from the start of the term.

BH went on to score 140 runs with Sebastian and Thomas hitting some big sixes.

Our under 9s visited St Hughs for 2 fixtures next. Both teams showing further understanding of the game in these matches. Unfortunately, both teams came away with a loss but Mr Bell was very happy with their progress.

Our last fixture of this short term was a doubles tennis festival at Ranby house. At BH we love to embrace any challenge, without a lot of preparations we entered the tournament for the experience. Out of 10 teams the BH pairs finished 1st and 4th. A wonderful achievement by Sebastian, Ellie-Eve, Thomas and Matthew.

The last sporting events of the year were our sports days.

Main school sports day was the biggest event we have hosted to date. Each child participated in 5 events. At BH we feel we have a fantastic balance between participation and competition.

Superbly attended by our parents and friends of BH. A memorable day for all involved.

Nursery sports day is always one of the highlights of the sporting calendar. This year we had a capacity crowd to cheer on the caterpillars and butterflies. Such a feel good event, enjoyed by children, staff, parents, grandparents and friends of BH.
