In the lead up to half term, our pupils enjoyed a wonderfully creative and enriching week across the school.
Our Reception and Nursery children spent time in the forest creating their own natural artwork. Using sticks, leaves and other treasures they discovered, the children explored textures, patterns and shapes, developing both their imagination and fine motor skills. Forest learning continues to be a valuable and much-loved part of our curriculum.

Our Upper School children celebrated Valentine’s Day by designing and creating their own unique cards using natural materials gathered from the forest. They carefully selected, cut and arranged sticks to craft beautiful rustic designs, showing impressive creativity, patience and teamwork. It was fantastic to see them taking inspiration directly from nature and producing such thoughtful pieces.

Year 3 have also been busy putting their scientific thinking to the test by designing and creating their own water filtration systems. Using layers of soil, stones and other natural materials, the children explored how different substances can help to filter and clean water. They worked collaboratively to predict, test and refine their designs, developing their understanding of scientific enquiry and the importance of clean water. It was wonderful to see such curiosity, problem-solving and perseverance in action.

Our Chess Challenge is also well underway. Pupils are thoroughly enjoying the friendly competition, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship whilst developing their strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow with each match.

A wonderful week filled with creativity, collaboration and challenge.
