Our Year 4 pupils have recently embarked on an exciting design and technology project, exploring creativity, problem-solving and resilience through the challenge of designing and building their own boats.

The project began with simple cardboard models, allowing children to explore their ideas, test possibilities and begin thinking like designers and engineers. From these early prototypes, the children refined their designs, tested their creations, overcame challenges and developed their ideas through a process of trial, reflection and improvement.

Throughout the project, the children have shown incredible perseverance. They have struggled, adapted, triumphed and learned from every stage of the process. They have discussed their choices, reflected on their designs and confidently articulated the decisions they made along the way.

The creative journey could have continued for many more weeks, with endless opportunities to refine and develop their ideas further, but it has been a wonderful project that has showcased the imagination, determination and teamwork of our Year 4 pupils.

We are incredibly proud of the children and the thoughtful, resilient approach they have taken throughout this fantastic learning experience.
