At Burton Hathow, we are proud to support the incredible work of Wildline Wildlife Sanctuary, a local charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for injured and orphaned wildlife.
This term, our Year 6 pupils chose to donate the proceeds from their Summer Fair stall to the sanctuary, helping to support the vital work they do. We are incredibly proud that our pupils decided to use their fundraising efforts to make a positive difference to local wildlife.
Our connection with the sanctuary became even more meaningful this term when we discovered an injured bird on our school grounds. Affectionately named ‘Teresa’ by the children, she was carefully looked after by James, who ensured she was kept safe and comfortable until she could be taken to Wildline Wildlife Sanctuary for expert care.
Moments like these provide wonderful opportunities for our children to develop compassion, responsibility and respect for the natural world. We hope Teresa makes a full recovery, and we are grateful to the Wildline Wildlife Sanctuary for everything they do to protect and care for our local wildlife.
