What an unforgettable few days our pupils enjoyed on their exciting residential trip to London!

The adventure began with the children travelling by train from Newark to London King’s Cross. Once they arrived in the capital, pupils enjoyed lunch together in the beautiful Russell Square before heading off to explore the fascinating British Museum. Following an afternoon of discovery and learning, the children checked into their accommodation and enjoyed a delicious pizza dinner together.

The evening continued with a walk through the world-famous Covent Garden, where pupils stopped to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and talented street performers before making their way to the West End for a spectacular performance of Hercules.

Day two was packed full of culture, creativity and discovery as pupils visited both the V&A Museum and the Science Museum. Later in the afternoon, the children immersed themselves in Spanish culture during an exciting Flamenco dancing workshop, followed by a wonderful tapas meal and an authentic Flamenco show.

The final day of the trip saw pupils visit the incredible Tate Modern before finishing their London adventure with a river boat cruise along the River Thames, taking in many of the capital’s famous sights from the water.

Throughout the trip, the children represented Burton Hathow impeccably. Their behaviour, enthusiasm, curiosity and manners were a real credit to both themselves and the school.
Experiences such as these provide children with invaluable opportunities beyond the classroom. From developing independence, resilience and confidence to experiencing world-class art, history, science and theatre first-hand, the trip allowed pupils to broaden their horizons, strengthen friendships and create memories that will stay with them for years to come.
A huge thank you to all staff who made the trip possible and to our wonderful pupils for making it such a fantastic experience.
