It has been a wonderfully busy period across the school, with pupils engaging in a wide range of hands-on learning experiences.

Our Lower School enjoyed a fantastic afternoon discovering all things potatoes! We were delighted to welcome one of our parents and local farmer, Mr Arden, who shared his expertise and gave the children a fascinating insight into his work. The pupils were amazed to learn that there are over 4,000 varieties of potatoes worldwide. To bring their learning to life, the children also had the opportunity to plant their own potatoes, which they are now eagerly looking forward to watching grow.

In Year 3, pupils have been exploring the science of light and shadow. They have been investigating how shadows change throughout the day, developing their understanding through observation and practical enquiry.

Year 4 have been learning about how the ear works as part of their science studies. They were incredibly fortunate to welcome a very special guest from Year 6, Penelope, who shared her personal experience of using cochlear implants. She spoke confidently about how they work and the significant difference they make in enabling her to hear, providing a powerful and meaningful insight for the children.

Meanwhile, our Gardening Club has been hard at work planting seeds and nurturing new life. We are pleased to report that the carrots have already begun to germinate, and we are now eagerly awaiting the first signs of our parsnips emerging.

Upper School also enjoyed a refreshing morning walk, taking time to spot the first signs of spring and appreciate the changing season.
