We have loved bringing the excitement of the Winter Olympics to Burton Hathow through our PE lessons with a curling-inspired activity!

Children across the school had the opportunity to explore this unique sport, learning about the skills and strategy behind curling – where players slide stones towards a target, requiring precision, control, and teamwork. In our sessions, pupils practised these skills by carefully aiming and sliding their ‘stones’, developing both coordination and communication.

There was a great atmosphere during the lessons, with children enjoying the challenge and engaging enthusiastically with a sport that many had not experienced before. It was fantastic to see pupils inspired by the Winter Olympics and keen to try something new.

Mr Murphy also joined in during the sessions, much to the children’s delight, showing great enthusiasm as he took part alongside them.

A wonderful way to enrich our PE curriculum and connect learning to global sporting events.
