The sun was shining, and the birds were out in full force! We spotted all sorts of species, including cormorants, a kestrel, reed buntings, buzzards, and yellowhammers. The highlight of the day was a magnificent great egret that flew in and landed right in front of us – truly an unforgettable moment!

The Lower School also made fat balls to help feed our feathered friends particularly in these winter months.

The Big Bird Watch helps children learn about the birds in our local area and understand how we can support them. Observing different species encourages curiosity, teaches patience and careful observation, and helps children appreciate the wildlife around them.

A huge thank you to Mr Daly, Mr Hardcastle, all the staff, and the children who took part. We couldn’t have done it without you!
