Well, what a term we have had! We are so proud of how Year 1 and 2 have risen to the challenges that the term has presented, in particular with remote learning, and would like to thank everyone and their parents for their continued support.

We have worked hard on our Fantasy Worlds that we created with Mrs Burch in Art, and brought them to life with our wonderful imaginative writing when we wrote and illustrated our own fantasy stories. Children have really embraced story writing and have also produced some amazing stories at home which they have read to us in class! In Maths this term we have continued to work on Place Value, Addition and Subtraction and have started to look at 2-dimensional shapes and fractions.

In our Topic work we have done a whistle-stop tour of the human body. Children have learnt all about the 5 senses, teeth, the skeleton, the digestive system and the circulatory system. We have made our own skeletons, and had lots of fun following the route our school dinner takes through our digestive system!

We joined forces with Reception and laid a path and planted bulbs in our Environmental Garden at the front of Halse Hall. We would like to say a big thank you to Mr Shaw and Mr Buckland for working so hard and helping us to make the garden look beautiful, and we look forward to seeing our bulbs growing when we return to school in the Spring.

We would like to wish our BH family a restful and safe Christmas, and can’t wait to see the children in 2021!
